Training

 

Depending on the instructor, you will be training to use the longsword as well as other weapons of the time. Training includes:

 

Drills: Where you repeat movement types with or without a partner.

 

Exercises: Where you will be trying to make the correct responses to given circumstances.

 

Bouts: Where you will be trying to achieve specific goals within a fight.

 

Free Play: Where you will be just trying to beat the other combatant. Always concentrating on improving your art over winning the bout.
